Jermaine Dupri Celebrates 25th Anniversary of So So Def

2018 marks the 25th anniversary of So So Def and music fans will get the chance to help its founder celebrate the pioneering hip-hop label’s monumental achievement this summer.

Billboard reports Sony Music Entertainment’s Legacy Recordings/Certified Classics divisions will release the So So Def 25 essential compilation.

Throughout the year Legacy will also release 12″ vinyl reissues of select catalog titles and additional digital content.

A So So Def tour is also reportedly in the works.

“I’ve been dreaming of getting to this point since my very first release,” said Dupri in a statement.

So So Def is just one of a series of accolades Dupri will receive as a salute to his influential career. On Thursday, the producer will reportedly receive the Breaking Barriers Award at the sixth annual Global Spin Awards airing on Revolt on Feb. 22.

Congrats to Mr. Dupri.
